abstract
- © 2019 IEEE.This paper describes the use of different industrial automation tools, manufacturing systems and PLM software to create an exploratory laboratory. This will be dedicated to learning several concepts surrounding Industry 4.0 through the use of activities and methodologies aimed at the understanding of smart manufacturing and digital manufacturing. This laboratory has been set up in collaboration with the German company Siemens (Industrial Automation and Industry Software departments), who provides support in the use of automation and PLM tools, and the Mexican company, Bocar Group which collaborates on the development of case studies. The case studies are part of several activities related to a final course project. Students will be guided using project-based learnings teaching practices to achieve this task.
