abstract

  • © 2021 ACM.This proposal explores the competencies developed by a group of 30 professors from a private non-for-profit university in Mexico after being part of a training course oriented towards entrepreneurship development guided by collaborative methodologies. The research approach consists of a case study in which the following 21st-century competencies were analyzed as categories: creativity, innovation, initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Semi-structured interviews and participant observation in a focus group were used as instruments to collect information. In this group of teachers, it was found that the collaborative strategies fostered teamwork and self-reflection and the interest in developing these skills to collaborate with the development of students towards new needs. It is considered that integrating entrepreneurship training strategies helps teachers to build the necessary competencies for the requirements of society. Still, higher education institutions must maintain this teacher training process to incorporate them into their daily practice.
