Nevertheless, to successfully implement the new grid paradigm, it is necessary to count on having an adequate workforce capable of converting the smart grid idea into a reality. In this work, an educative platform for the study of the smart grid is presented. The platform is comprised of a series of massive open online courses (MOOCs), a textbook about power systems, and a remote smart grid laboratory. The platform elements are compared with Bloom's Taxonomy learning outcomes to evaluate the possible learning outcomes of its resources, and an analysis of its advantages and disadvantages is also presented to conceive the areas of opportunity that the platform currently has. Also, the impact on the students who enrolled in the massive open online courses is also analyzed. This research concludes that the platform components could achieve the basic levels of Bloom's taxonomy; however, the analysis of the educational platform's elements highlighted the need for additional work in their development and assessment regarding how to counteract the platform's disadvantages.
