- This chapter details the interaction of computational modeling and bioreactor design to maximize antimicrobial peptide (AMP) production. Kinetic and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models provide valuable insight into microbial growth, substrate utilization, AMP production and scale-up efficiency; SuperPro Designer software serves as an indispensable process simulation tool for scaling-up, cost management and environmental impact evaluation of bioprocesses. Collectively these computational strategies enhance bioreactor performance that is critical to biotechnological industry advancement in creating different bio-products. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.
