García-Díaz, Cesar
Overview
Doctor of Science in Bioengineering and Biotechnology expert in ¿¿Environmental Biotechnology in the processes involved in the remediation of soils contaminated with weathered hydrocarbons, relying on strategies such as: pre-treatability studies in biopiles, lysimeters (radial and longitudinal), composting systems, rotary drum, soil washing, etc. Experience in the isolation (classical microbiology) and characterization (growth and degradation kinetics; molecular biology techniques: 16S rDNA and phylogeny) of hydrocarbonoclast microorganisms. Knowledge in biological control (insect-plague) through Bt. He stayed at the University of Naples Federíco II in Italy, developing innovative reactive molecules for the remediation of contaminated environments.
Graduated from the Biochemical Engineering career, during which he was related to the engineering of chemical and biological processes, with regard to the evaluation and standardization of food, the design and development of new food products, with documentation and quality control of processes; as well as, with the design and operation of bioreactors. He also has knowledge about wastewater treatment; as well as its chemical, physical and microbiological analyzes. He was in contact with five pilot-level food plants (meat products, fruits and vegetables, dairy, confectionery and cereal plants); From which he obtained experience in the handling and manipulation of the different machinery and laboratory equipment.
