My research interests are mainly focused on the development and optimization of useful bioprocesses for the production of metabolites of industrial interest as well as the biodegradation of pollutants from water. I am interested in evaluating the performance of different types of bioprocesses based on their kinetic and stoichiometric aspects, microbial composition, energy consumption, mass transfer mechanisms, and system hydrodynamics as well as scaling strategies.
