abstract

  • In 2015, all United Nations Member States adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) [1] as a global framework to promote prosperity, equity, and sustainability by 2030. Among them, SDG 4 emphasizes the right to inclusive and quality education as a cornerstone for social mobility and sustainable development. Achieving this goal is particularly difficult in contexts marked by persistent inequalities, where access to higher education remains limited by socioeconomic or political conditions. In Mexico, despite significant advances in educational coverage, only a fraction of students from low-income families can access top-tier universities, highlighting the need for targeted financial aid and institutional support.
