  • Education has been defined as the main factor for improving the quality of human and life styles. On the other hand, Outcome based education (OBE) is seen as a tool to provide quality education based on the predefined quality objectives or learning outcomes, and helps to achieve the organizational goals. This study believes that the theoretical and practical understanding of the basic challenges and opportunities with outcome based education is crucial, as well as an important task in the present day education and society. To this end, the present paper systematically reviews the basic challenges of outcome based education based on the different regions and application settings. It also brings into light the challenges currently described in the available literatures with respect to the different scholarly domains such as: engineering, medicine, management etc. Finally, the best practices for OBE are empirically discussed in detail.
