Probing Artificial Intelligence Applied to Topology Optimization for the Generation of a Chassis for an ATV Chapter in Scopus uri icon

abstract

  • Currently, various software applications contain programmed artificial intelligence algorithms to generate topology optimization of products. However, it is necessary to explore them to know their results and decide if they are suitable for the design of a specific part, as well as define the best way to specify their design restrictions. This work explores the use of artificial intelligence applied to topology optimization through a software application for the generation of an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) chassis, and throughout the development, the methodology used is shared. Among the results obtained, it was found that the use of this type of software application gives the user the position of the bars of the structure necessary to resist the loads where the forces specified as initial conditions will be applied, in addition to having programmed the algorithms of artificial intelligence to perform topology optimization of components, makes the user¿s work easier; since through menus and dialog boxes, only the initial conditions of the design must be specified. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
