Forte-Celaya, Maria Rubi
Overview
María Rubi Forte Celaya holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Master's in Engineering with a specialization in Quality and Productivity Systems, both from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Throughout her career, she has held various key positions at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Sonora Norte Campus, contributing significantly to the institution¿s strengthening and growth.
She began her career at Tecnológico de Monterrey as a Growth and Communication Specialist, followed by a role as an Academic Program Specialist, where she assisted in attracting student talent and in the accreditation processes of academic programs by national organizations. Subsequently, she served as the Director of the Bachelor in Enterprise Creation and later was appointed as the Director of Industrial and Systems Engineering. In this position, she led various projects in educational innovation and business linkage.
Her leadership ascended her to the positions of Associate Director and then Director of the School of Engineering and Sciences Division, a position she currently holds. During these roles, she has coordinated and developed several projects at both local and regional levels. She was part of the linking team for Ingenia, a national initiative to promote more women's participation in science and technology fields. She also led the human flourishing initiative in the Western Region and was part of the inaugural cohort of the Impulsa program and the first generation of the Fellow Leadership Program at the School of Engineering and Sciences. Additionally, she has been a mentor for students in the Women Mentoring in STEM program.
She has been the author and co-author of articles related to educational innovation in engineering education and topics concerning women in engineering; these works have been presented and published at internationally recognized conferences indexed in SCOPUS. She is a member of the Energy Cluster in Sonora and the Automotive Cluster of Sonora. Throughout her career, she has consolidated an academic and professional community that promotes collaboration, respect, inclusion, growth, and innovation.
