Beatriz Acosta was born in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, in 1988. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology Engineering in December 2010 and her Ph.D. in Biotechnology in May 2015; the two degrees from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies. She has developed research projects in the industry with Grupo Bimbo (Bimbo and Barcel), Grupo Pepsico (Fritolay) and Gruma. She is currently a Senior Scientist at the Femsa Biotechnology Center and associate researcher at the Emerging Food Technologies and Nutraceuticals research group. She is a member of the national system of researchers (Conacyt) level 1.
