Aguilar-Alemán, Juan Pablo

Overview

Researcher, academic leader, and innovation consultant with over 15 years of international experience in applied science, biomedical engineering, and regulatory affairs. He holds a PhD in Biomedicine and Tissue Engineering and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Barcelona, as well as a BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he currently serves as National Program Director for Biomedical Engineering. He is a Level I member of Mexico¿s National System of Researchers (SNI) and an active member of the Scientific and Technical Affairs Committee of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). His track record includes 9 granted patents in Mexico and Europe, and 8 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals (Q1¿Q2), covering topics such as biomaterials, regenerative medicine, 3D printing, and advanced therapies. Juan Pablo has led the development of high-value biomedical technologies such as dural patches, heart valves, bone grafts, and tympanic membranes, with full lifecycle expertise under GMP and ISO 13485 standards, using Quality by Design (QbD) and risk-based methodologies. He complements his academic role by advising R&D projects in the healthcare sector, fostering strategic collaboration between academia, industry, and clinical practice.
