Cárdenas-Chávez, Diana Linda
Overview
Full-Time Research Professor of the Department of Bioengineering at the School of Engineering and Sciences (Climate and Sustainability Group) and Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean from Tecnologico de Monterrey. Member of the National (Mexican) Researchers System (SNII I). She obtained a PhD in Microbiology, an MS and BA in Microbiology and Biology respectively from Faculty of Biological Sciences, Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. Her main areas of research are the generation of value-added products from agroindustrial by-products, isolation of microorganisms with potential applications in biotechnology industry and water treatment, and detection-bioremediation of emerging micropollutants in water sources. She also has experience in molecular biology and genetic engineering for gene expression analysis, recombinant protein production and enzymes with industrial and remediation applications. She currently is the Director of the Graduate Program in Biotechnology at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Puebla.
