Overview
Gerardo Castañeda is Leader of Artificial Intelligence Initiatives for Education at the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Previously, he was Data Acquisition Coordinator at the Living Lab & Data Hub, where he was responsible for exploring, managing, and enabling data connection at Tecnológico de Monterrey, facilitating the process of obtaining validated and authorized educational data, empowering users to focus on research.
Gerardo Castañeda holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Innovation from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is a Candidate member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNI) in the interdisciplinary area. In education, he has collaborated on various national and international research initiatives, such as RIE 360 (Mexican Educational Innovation Network) and the LALA (Learning Analytics in Latin America) network.
In the interdisciplinary field, he has collaborated on national and international projects, as a researcher in energy literacy at the Binational Laboratory for Intelligent Management of Energy Sustainability and Technological Training (CONACYT-SENER), as a facilitator for young people from 14 different countries on the World Youth Ship in Japan in 2024, as a researcher in the international TRANSFORM research network for sustainability and resilience in SMEs, as well as research stays at institutions such as the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) at Tohoku University and the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).
In the academic field, he is a professor of finance courses at the Business School and digital humanities courses at the School of Humanities and Education.
