León-Morán, Ruth Maribel

Overview

She was a full-time professor at the Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela (1998-2013) in the Department of Industrial Design of the School of Architecture and Design; She carried out research stays as a visiting foreign professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain (2004 and 2012) and as Academic Leader at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, at the Chihuahua Campus and Guadalajara Campus (2013). She is currently the Director of the Department of Design of the Western Region of the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she also works as an undergraduate and graduate professor. As a teacher she has participated in Master's programs in Venezuela, Spain and Mexico. In addition, at the Universidad de Los Andes she also held the positions of: director of the School of Industrial Design, director of the Department of Industrial Design, member of the Postgraduate Studies Commission, Coordinator of the Curriculum Commission of the School of Industrial Design and active member of the Faculty Council, among others. She has also worked on international collaboration programs with the following universities: University of Bologna, Italy; National University of Colombia, Colombia; Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Chile; University of Development, Chile. She currently belongs to different international design networks, scientific and editorial committees such as: Mexican Network of Design and Emotions; Ibero-American Design Research Network; The Latin Network for the Development of Design Processes; Council for the Promotion of Innovation and Design Jalisco; diid ¿ disegno industriale industrial design; International Systemic Design Research Network; Ecodesign and Sustainability Magazine; Mexico/Venezuela advisory committee and selection teams at the Ibero-American Design Biennial. His scientific production includes the publication of articles, book chapters, participation in congresses, development of international research projects sponsored by the AECID, management of agreements between universities in Europe and South America, supervision of postgraduate theses and he is currently developing research projects with Business. associations in Mexico. In addition to this, as an expert in systems applied to design, she has given international conferences and has conducted workshops on topics based on strategic innovation, advanced design processes with an emphasis on prospective scenarios and emotional design. Likewise, she has also worked professionally in home interior design, commercial space design and furniture design, from concept to project execution. In the same way, she maintains links and alliances with various business sectors, developing strategic and innovation projects driven by design.
