Del Angel-Sánchez, Karina

Overview

Karina del Angel Sánchez is Postdoctoral research in the Accelerated Materials Development unit at the Institute for Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing (IAMSM) at Tecnologico de Monterrey. She is a Chemical Bacteriology Parasitology (QBP) Bachelor graduate from the Faculty of Biological Sciences at UANL, holding a Master of Science with a specialty in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FIC-UANL) and a Doctorate in Materials Sciences from Centro de Investigación en Materiales Avanzados,S.C. (CIMAV) in Chihuahua, México. She specializes in the design and synthesis of materials for various applications. Her research focuses on tissue engineering (TE), particularly the development of fiber and hydrogel-based devices for skin and cartilage repair, the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials. But too she has an interest and knowledge about research mineralization of contaminants through photocatalytic processes. She has received three scholarships from CONACYT and has published over 12 articles and holds one patent and 2 directed master¿s theses. Additionally, she serves as a peer reviewer for international journals and has participated in various student evaluation committees, projects, and scientific publications.
