Dr. Crescencio García Guendulain is an academic leader passionate about transforming higher education, with more than fifteen years of experience as a professor, researcher, and university administrator. He holds a PhD in Mechatronic Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Bachelor s degree in Electronic Engineering.
He currently serves as Division Director of the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, where he leads seven academic departments and nine undergraduate programs. In this role, he advances a strategic agenda focused on growth with academic excellence, faculty development, educational innovation, applied research, internationalization, and engagement with business, government, and academic ecosystems.
Previously, he served as Director of the School of Engineering and Sciences at the Tampico Campus. Throughout his career, he has also held positions as Academic Secretary at Universidad Politécnica de Altamira, coordinator and academic leader of Electronic Engineering and Energy Engineering programs, professor, and leader of academic projects. He also worked as a technology development project consultant and Engineering Manager at BOMMUS de México, where he participated in the planning, management, and monitoring of technology-based projects.
He was a member of Mexico s National System of Researchers from 2019 to 2022 and received Tecnológico de Monterrey s Inspiring Teacher Award in 2018. He has contributed to academic and technological development through publications in scientific journals, patent applications, and applied research projects conducted in collaboration with various companies and institutions.
His experience includes strategic planning, project management and monitoring, team leadership, talent development, academic program consolidation, effective communication, and partnership building. His leadership is characterized by a people-centered approach, the ability to bring together diverse teams, and a strong focus on achieving meaningful institutional results.
Dr. García Guendulain is committed to transforming lives through education by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, applied research, and the holistic development of students. His purpose is to contribute to the development of a School of Engineering and Sciences with national and international reach one capable of generating knowledge, developing leaders, and providing solutions to society s most pressing challenges.
