García-Bañuelos, Luciano

Overview

Luciano García Bañuelos is Research Professor at the Department of Computer Science, in Tecnologico de Monterrey, campus Puebla, since January 2019. He is currently part of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI), ranked National Researcher 1. Prior to this, he had positions as Senior Researcher and later as Associate Professor at the University of Tartu in Estonia, part-time lecturer at the Universidad de las Américas-Puebla and Full Professor at the University of Tlaxcala in México. He was awarded a PhD degree by the Grenoble Institute of Technology in France in 2003, for his work on persistence and transaction management. During the last decade, he has worked in algorithms and formal methods applied to the analysis of business process, process mining and the use of blockchain technology to enable collaborative process execution. He has participated in multiple European research projects, one funded by DARPA and some additional national initiatives. According to Scopus, Mr. García Bañuelos has accumulated 1800+ citation to his 76 publications. He also has two granted patents with Skype Ltd.
