Santamaría-Cid De León, David

Overview

I am a researcher originally trained in the qualitative tradition, who has gradually developed and learned skills in inferential statistics to integrate the quantitative tradition into my set of methodological tools. My academic background is in International Relations, later complemented by graduate studies in Education and Educational Innovation, always oriented toward social development with a human-centered vision. In my role at Tecnológico de Monterrey, I have had the opportunity to conduct impact assessments on institutional initiatives such as the adoption of a meaningful learning approach in PrepaTec, alumni perceptions of employment quality, and the gender gaps experienced by female graduates in their professional trajectories, among other projects. I have had the privilege of collaborating with various areas, consistently maintaining a focus that reinforces the human dimension within our pursuit of academic excellence. Likewise, together with my team, we have made a firm commitment to incorporate a gender perspective in all the studies we conduct within the Tec. Additionally, I have collaborated on external consulting projects assessing the impact of educational innovations in different institutions beyond Tecnológico de Monterrey. I consider one of my main strengths to be the ability to present ideas, projects, and results before highly demanding audiences, given their positions of responsibility within the institution. Throughout my career at the Tec, I have frequently presented reports to deans, directors, vice presidents, and vice-rectors, which has strengthened my oral and written communication skills, as well as my capacity to effectively listen and contribute constructively within a framework of open dialogue and collaboration.
