Jorge Carlos Sanabria Zepeda holds a Ph.D. in Kansei Science from the Centre for Advanced Research in Neuroscience, Behaviour and Kansei at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, where he developed a method to enhance creative cognition (The Gradual Immersion Method). He is currently a member of the National System of Researchers with a focus on the development of training and competency assessment methods in digital fabrication and educational robotics environments. He specialises in industrial design, perception and creative cognition and has taught courses at Kyoto and Ibaraki Universities and for the Japanese Council of Education. He is a consultant for projects on technologies for learning, and leads the LaTEMx Network's Committee on Educational Design and Technology for Territorial Welfare and Development.
Recent achievements:
- 2016-17: Design and implementation of a network of 7 digital fabrication labs in the Higher Secondary Education System of the University of Guadalajara, including training methodology together with Stanford University.
- 2017-2018: Planning and implementation of IDEATÓN 2018, in collaboration with the Secretariat of Innovation, Science and Technology of Jalisco (SICyT), for the competition of 1000 high school students in the development of medium fidelity prototypes using microcontrollers.
- 2016-2018: Design, development and implementation of a digital timeline for the World Heritage Museum of the Cabañas Cultural Institute, with the participation of students and teachers.
- 2019: Mapping of the techno-creative ecosystem in the Côte d'Azur, France, as well as in Quebec, Canada and the metropolitan area of Jalisco.
- 2021-2023: Seconded as a full researcher to the Interdisciplinary Research Group Research for Complexity at the Institute for the Future of Education.
