De Obeso-Fernández del Valle, Alvaro
Overview
Dr. Alvaro de Obeso received his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh in 2018. He has a BS in Biology from the University of Guadalajara and a MSc by Research in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh. His main area of research during his PhD was related to free-living amoebae. He has also worked in the development of a recombinant vaccine for cattle and projects involving the relationship of influenza virus with the cholesterol pathway and synthetic biology. Dr. de Obeso joined the Department of Bioengineering of Tec campus CCM in 2020. His main research interest relates to the understanding of microorganisms and their role and interactions in microbial communities. He is a member of the Strategic Research Group of Nutriomics and Emerging Technologies. He also belongs to the National Researchers Council, currently as Level 1.
