Overview

Postdoctoral Fellow in the Laboratory for Noninvasive Brain-Machine Interface Systems Laboratory, University of Houston's NSF-funded IUCRC BRAIN Center ¿an industry-university partnership to develop neurotechnologies (http://nsfbrain.org) to improve the human condition in partnership with the Tecnologico de Monterrey, School of Engineering and Sciences. Leader of a multidisciplinary team, in charge of designing a robotic exoskeleton aimed at children with cerebral palsy. Leader of the Spinal Cord Computer Interface (SCCI) project, which aims to measure spinal sensorimotor networks during single-joint movements at both spinal and cortical levels. Responsible for supervising graduate students and undergraduate researchers. PhD, MsC, Graduate research at the Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico) with experience in damage detection in composite materials, modal analysis, exoskeletons, electronics systems, acoustics signals, vibration analysis, machine learning, and digital signal processing. Research on developing new technological solutions based on robotic exoskeletons, Spinal Cord Computer Interface, Structural Health Monitoring, vibration analysis, damage detection, machine learning, and data processing. Scientific writing skills with more than 10 scientific publications indexed in Scopus. Autonomous engineering problem-solving. IEEE member and reviewer of the high-impact Journals IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and Sound and Vibration. Mentor in the IUCRC BRAIN REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) program funded by the National Science Foundation (USA).
