Monroy-Peláez, Ángel Rafael

Ángel is a Biomedical Engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana and holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering from Purdue University, with a specialization in the electrical and magnetic properties of nanomaterials. Throughout his career, he has participated in several research lines, including the enhancement of sensitivity in graphene-based magnetic sensors (Purdue University, United States), prosthetic alignment in lower-limb patients (National Institute of Rehabilitation, Mexico), and the development of ventricular assist devices (University of Groningen, Netherlands). Since joining Tecnológico de Monterrey, he has served as a professor in various academic units (blocks and Week 18), where he has developed strong experience teaching mathematics, physics, and challenge-based learning activities. Additionally, he is involved in research initiatives focused on innovation and sustainability, such as PET recycling for filament production, solar dehydrators, simulations of additive incorporation in PET, and the use of spirulina to promote plant growth. All these research lines are part of the Next-Gen Scientist program. Finally, he has led educational innovation projects that have significantly contributed to knowledge generation among students.
