Barceló-Alonso, Grettel

Overview

Grettel Barceló Alonso is a Computer Systems Engineer, with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Option, from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) and a PhD in Computer Science from the Computing Research Center (CIC). She is the author of several scientific articles in internationally recognized journals. She has participated as a speaker at national and international conferences in the areas of Knowledge-Based Systems and Natural Language Processing and is a graduate of the applied data science program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She obtained 1st place in the social and educational category of the Mexican Women Inventors and Innovators National Contest with the project "Comprehensive environment for the learning and teaching of Algebra" and 2nd place in the 2010 Best PhD Thesis Award on Artificial Intelligence by the Mexican Society of Artificial intelligence. She is a partner and shareholder of ITA S.A. de C.V., a company dedicated to providing high-level comprehensive solutions in artificial intelligence and data mining. Its main line of development is focused on educational systems in mathematics, with a total of 41 systems currently marketed in the SaaS ¿ Software as a Service model. In relation to social projects, she has contributed as a Senior Consultant with state organizations, such as the Ministry of Health of the State of Hidalgo, the Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks, the State Institute of Transportation, the Secretariat of Planning for Regional and Metropolitan Development, the Human Resources Subdirectorate of the State of Hidalgo, the DIF Children's Hospital, among others. In the private sector, she has provided consulting and training to companies such as AT&T, Salesforce, PepsiCo Group, Apex Global, HP, AMD and Wheel the World. Recognized in 2018 as an Inspiring Professor by Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she works as director of Information Technology Engineering, coordinator of the Data Science & AI diploma: From concept to application development of Continuing Education and Associate National Director of the Master's Degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence. In addition, she is a designer of the Visualization Platforms in Python and Auto Machine Learning subcompetencies in the Data Scientist role for The Learning Gate platform, the innovative and high-impact learning community of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
