Ramírez-Nava, Gerardo Julián
Overview
Julián Ramírez-Nava earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico in June 2013 and his M.Sc. in Medical Physics from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico in November 2016. In February 2021, he received his Ph.D. in Nanosciences and Micro-Nanotechnologies from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico.
In 2015, he joined the National Laboratory for Research and Development of Radiopharmaceuticals at the National Institute of Nuclear Research (ININ) of Mexico as a research fellow. From March 2021 to August 2022, he served as a biomedical engineer and medical physicist at the Radiopharmaceutical Production Plant of the same institute.
Since February 2022, he has been a lecturer at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He also served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing for Sustainable Manufacturing of the same institution from September 2022 to August 2024. From January to June 2024, he completed a short-term research stay at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School.
Since 2018, Dr. Gerardo Julián Ramírez-Nava has published 17 articles in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in the areas of medical physics and biomedical engineering. His main research interests focus on the therapeutic and industrial applications of ionizing radiation. He has supervised three master¿s theses and eight undergraduate capstone projects, and he is currently supervising one doctoral and one master¿s thesis. Since January 2023, he has been a Level I member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNII).
He currently provides professional biomedical engineering and medical physics services at the Radiopharmaceutical Production Plant of the National Institute of Nuclear Research (ININ).
