Miron-Merida, Vicente Antonio
Overview
Vicente Mirón is a Chemical Engineer and Pedagoge from the Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico. He holds a Master of Science in Food Science from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Mexico, and a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. He has international experience at the University of Otago, New Zealand; the University of Manchester, United Kingdom; and the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, Portugal. He is currently working as a research professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus, Mexico. His research interests include the utilization of agro-industrial waste for obtaining metabolites of interest and biomaterials, the detection of food contaminants through alternative methods (biosensors), the analysis of novel food sources, and the use of natural-origin materials for the removal of contaminants in foods.
