España-Sánchez, Beatriz Liliana

Overview

Pharmacobiological Chemist from the Autonomous University of Coahuila. She holds both a Master s and a PhD in Polymer Technology from the Center for Research in Applied Chemistry (CIQA). She completed postdoctoral research stays at CINVESTAV Querétaro and CFATA UNAM between 2015 and 2017. From 2023 to 2027, she served as a Investigadora por México (IxM) affiliated with CIDETEQ. Between 2023 and 2025, she was appointed as Investigadora Titular B within the Health Division, and since October2025, she has been a Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Querétaro Campus. Her professional record includes 59 scientific publications, 8 granted national patents, 3 patent applications related to antimicrobial nanomaterials, and 1 technological development, as well as more than 120 national and international science outreach and dissemination activities. She received an honorable mention as a young researcher at the Alejandrina Award 2024 and was recently awarded first place in the Querétaro State Science and Technology Award 2025. She holds Level 2 membership in the National System of Researchers (SNII) and has contributed to the training of 33 undergraduate students, 14 graduate students, and 1 postdoctoral researcher. Her research lines focus on the fabrication of antimicrobial nanomaterials for biomedical applications and the analysis of bacterial resistance mechanisms upon contact with nanomaterials.
