Maycotte-Felkel, Sandra

Overview

Sandra Maycotte Felkel is an Associate Professor and Researcher in International Business and currently serves as the National Director of the Bachelor in International Business (LIN) and the Bachelor in Global Business (BGB) programs at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business (University of South Carolina) and a Doctorate in Administrative Sciences from EGADE Business School. She also earned a Master¿s in International Business and Economic Development from Henley Business School (University of Reading, UK), a Global MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management (USA), and a B.A. in Marketing (LEM¿89) from Tecnológico de Monterrey. With over 20 years of academic and managerial experience, she has led multidisciplinary teams and academic projects focused on the design and implementation of learning experiences (Semana i, Semana Tec, Concentrations, Accreditations, and Case Competitions), academic programs (Program Director for LIN and International Programs), and strategic initiatives that integrate educational innovation and emerging technologies (Global Shared Learning Classroom, FIT Courses, Simulators, use of VR, Workshops and Certifications in Digital Technologies and AI), as well as internationalization efforts (Visiting Professor at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and Kempten University in Germany, and participation in collaboration, exchange, and dual-degree agreements). Dr. Maycotte has played a key leadership role in the design and continuous improvement of the LIN curricula (2011, 2019, and 2026), serving as Leader of the LIN Academic Committee, EAAC Leader for LIN2019 and LIN2026, as well as facilitator and designer of cross-school learning units (e.g., Supply Chain Simulators and joint Concentrations with the School of Engineering and Sciences). Her experience includes the management of national academic processes, the analysis and monitoring of performance indicators (ECAG, EGEL, competency development), and the implementation of improvement plans as head of the Academic Quality Committee for the LIN/BGB programs. Through this committee and the program¿s Academic Communities, she promotes continuous improvement and academic excellence. She is a member of the Technical Council for the EGEL in International Trade and Business (CENEVAL) and has contributed to both national (CACECA) and international (SACSCOC¿s SLOs) accreditation processes. Dr. Maycotte has represented Tecnológico de Monterrey in international conferences on educational innovation (HEAD), international business (GSEM, BALAS), and global academic associations (CUIBE). She is an active member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) (including its Digitalization SIG), the Academy of Management (AOM) (STR Division ¿ Strategic Management), and the Research Group on Organizations, Strategy, and Sustainability at EGADE Business School. She is fluent in English (C1 level) and is recognized for her strategic planning skills, collaborative leadership, and strong commitment to excellence in business education, consistently driving initiatives that connect academia with global business practice. Outside of academia, she is an avid long-distance runner, having completed seven marathons (New York, Chicago, Berlin, San Diego, Honolulu, Mexico City, Boston, and upcoming London 2026). She shares her life with her husband, Alejandro, and their three sons: Alejandro (LED¿17), Diego (LIN¿18), and Daniel (IIS¿23).
