I have more than 15 years of experience at the Tecnológico de Monterrey as a professor of English and literature at college level (which includes development of projects for Semana i, iSummer and the coordination of English language classes at profesional). Additionally I have taught literature at undergraduate and master's level at the UNAM since 2006. I was coordinator of the Language Center of the ccm campus for 9 years and Director of the Humanistic Studies Department at the same campus (these activities included coordinating group programming, advertising and academic aspects of the classes given to campus and students and professors, as well as to external participants). Additionally, I am a member of the IGA (international network of studies on the Gothic in literature and art), and founder plus permanent organizer of the International Congress of Gothic Literature that takes place every 2 years in the CDMX since 2008. My academic research has led to editing and publication of articles and book chapters which focus on gothic and horror literature in English and Spanish. I am also member of the research group Literatura y Discurso and member of the editorial boards of the Journals Comunicar and Entorno as well as the Palgrave Gothic series, and member of the excecutive board of the gothic studies forum at the MLA.
