Ortiz-Ambriz, Antonio
Overview
I studied Physics Engineering, Master's in Intelligent Systems and Ph. D in Optics at Tec de Monterrey, with a stay at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO). I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona for 8 years. I currently work as a professor in the science department.
My research interests are non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, soft matter, and complex systems. Within these fields, I have worked on frustration model systems using colloidal particles, optical tweezers and microlithography, combining experiments and simulations. I am currently researching models that explain and predict the behavior of hydrogels, microscopic propulsion models based on magnetic materials, and origami-based metamaterials.
