Peimbert-García, Rodrigo Ernesto

Overview

Rodrigo E. Peimbert García is the Director of International Engagement and Partnerships at the School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM). He is a results-oriented, resilient, and versatile professional with passion for INTERNATIONALIZATION and university leadership. Rodrigo holds a PhD in ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT from Texas Tech University (TTU), and he is certified Lean Six Sigma MASTER BLACK BELT. He is also part of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering and Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Societies in the United States. Since arriving at ITESM to study his Master of Science in Quality and Productivity Systems, Rodrigo has focused on learning and gaining comprehensive knowledge in different areas. He has professional experience in INTERNATIONALIZATION, research, teaching, grant proposals, consulting, and executive education: (2019-2024) Director of the International Academic Office of the (Deputy) Vice-Chancellor (International) based in Sydney, AUSTRALIA, where he developed strategic initiatives to position the ITESM in the region, primarily in areas of STUDENT MOBILITY and research collaboration. Parallelly, he participated as an HONORARY RESEARCHER at Macquarie University (QS 138) and VISITING SCHOLAR at the UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY SYDNEY - UTS (QS 96), where he collaborated closely with the ASSOCIATE DEANS of INTERNATIONALIZATION (ADIs). He also collaborated with the ADIs at the University of New South Wales - UNSW (QS 20) and the University of Sydney (QS 18). During this time, Rodrigo published several scientific articles in collaboration with researchers in countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Finland, India, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He has also been involved in topics related to ranking positioning, global reputation, and the international networks APRU, WUN, and U21. (2018-2019) RESEARCH PROFESSOR at Campus MTY, where he participated in different research projects and the design of training units (Innovation and Transformation) of the TEC21 Model. During his final semester, he was recognized as one of the BEST professors in the Industrial Engineering Department (EM2019 graduate survey). (2015-2017) Assistant Professor in Ecuador (USFQ) for one semester and 2.5 years at SLP Campus, where he supported activities related to STUDENT RECRUITMENT, the program director, the head of department, and TALENT ATTRACTION for short-term visiting academics. Distinctions in this role include a NOVUS of $200k MXN and an average ECOA of 9.8 during the final semester of AD2017. He was also a visiting professor in Puerto Rico (PUPR) during the Summer of 2016. (2014) Research associate and GRANT specialist at a private Technology Transfer Office (TTO), where he developed proposals to fund innovation projects (INADEM, FOMIX, and PEI). (2013) CONSULTANT on process optimization (LEAN) projects and KAIZEN events with Aeromexico Group at Mexico City International Airport. (2010-2012) Research assistant during the TEC-TTU dual program, participating in RESEARCH PROPOSALS for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). (2007-2009) Assistant in EXECUTIVE EDUCATION and coach of Lean Six Sigma PROJECTS, with estimated annual savings of $80,000 USD per project, for companies such as ARC Automotive, Bayer Health Care, Continental, Cornelius, Earth Tech, Frisa Aerospace, Gonher de México, Methode Electronics, Xertix Metronet, and Vitro.
