Rivera-Solorio, Carlos Iván

Overview

Carlos Iván Rivera Solorio obtained his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from ITESM, Mexico at 1990. He obtained his M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from UNAM, Mexico in 1995. He received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of Houston, Houston, Texas in 2001. His research interest areas are solar energy, convective heat transfer, renewable energies, energy efficiency in buildings and nanofluids. Dr. Rivera has been working in several projects for the industry and governmental agencies by more than 20 years. He is the author of more than 30 articles published in scientific journals in the areas of heat transfer, solar energy and nanofluids. He has advised more than 37 master thesis and 4 doctoral thesis. He is co-author of 2 national and 2 international patents. He has presented his research work in several national and international conferences. He received the Research and Academic Award of Engineering School from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009. He is member of the National Research System (SNI-I-Conacyt). He is currently full professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department and member of the Research Group of Energy and Climate Change at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
