García-Ortíz, César Eduardo
Overview
Dr. César Eduardo García Ortiz earned a Bachelor¿s degree in Physics and completed a joint Ph.D. program between Mexico and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), specializing in Nano-optics and Plasmonics, where he conducted research on light¿matter interactions at the nanoscale. He later carried out a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at SDU, strengthening his international profile in advanced optics and nanomaterials. He served for eight years as a CONACYT Research Professor at CICESE Monterrey Unit, where he led the Nano-Optics Group and contributed to the creation of the Master¿s Program in Advanced and Integrated Technologies. He has been a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI Level I) since 2015 and has supervised and graduated four postgraduate students in optics and nanotechnology. He currently serves as Associate Director of the Department of Sciences at the School of Engineering and Sciences, Tecnológico de Monterrey, with experience in academic coordination, curriculum design, faculty recruitment, accreditation processes, international mobility, and collaboration with leading institutions such as DTU and MIT.nano. His research focuses on nanotechnology, quantum optics, and plasmonic biosensors, with more than 30 peer-reviewed international publications and 5 papers in educational innovation journals. His work integrates scientific research, advanced talent development, and academic internationalization, driven by a vision of innovation, educational excellence, and institutional impact.
