Maycotte-Felkel, Sandra

Overview

Sandra Maycotte Felkel is an Associate Professor and Researcher in International Business and currently serves as the National Director of the Bachelor in International Business (LIN) and the Bachelor in Global Business (BGB) programs at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, and a Doctorate in Administrative Sciences from EGADE Business School. She also earned a Master s degree in International Business and Economic Development from Henley Business School, University of Reading, a Global MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Bachelor's degree Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey. With more than 20 years of academic and leadership experience, she has led teams, initiatives, and strategic processes aimed at strengthening academic offerings, educational innovation, quality assurance, and institutional engagement. Her experience includes the leadership and evolution of academic programs, the articulation of national efforts across campuses and schools, the deployment of the educational model, and the coordination of academic and strategic projects with institutional impact. Throughout her career, she has led the design, revision, and implementation of academic curricula, playing an active role in the LIN2011, 2019, and 2026 curriculum redesigns, as well as in academic policy, continuous improvement, and quality assurance programs. She has held leadership roles such as LIN Academic Chair, EAAC lead for LIN2019 and LIN2026, coordinator of the LIN/BGB Academic Quality Committee, and facilitator and designer of inter-school courses and innovative learning experiences. Her experience also includes the management of national academic processes, the analysis and monitoring of performance indicators, (including ECAG, EGEL, and competency development) and the implementation of improvement strategies through academic communities and structured follow-up mechanisms. She has contributed to national and international accreditation and quality assurance processes, incuding CACECA, SACSCOC, and as a member of the Technical Council of the EGEL in Trade and International Business at CENEVAL. In the area of academic innovation and transformation, she has led projects integrating emerging technologies, experiential learning models, and internationalization, such as Global Shared Learning Classroom, FIT Courses, simulators, virtual reality, and workshops and certifications in digital techologies and artificial intelligence. She has also promoted international academic engagement through collaborations, agreements, exchange initiatives, and visiting professor experiences at Fudan University in Shanghai and the University of Applied Sciences Kempten in Germany. She has represented Tecnológico de Monterrey in international conferences and academic networks in educational innovation and international business, including HEAD, GSEM, AIB LAC, BALAS, and CUIBE. She is an active member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), including its Digitalization Shared Interest Group, the Academy of Management (AOM), and EGADE's research group on Organizations, Strategy, and Sustainability. She is fluent in English (C1 level) and is recognized for her strategic vision, collaborative leadership, her ability to coordinate multidisciplinary academic teams, drive data-informed institutional transformation, and her commitment to a business education that is relevant, innovative, and connected to regional and global needs.
