Zamora-Guevara, Zeus Hiram

Overview

Researcher in sustainable energy development and social aspects of energy. He is currently developing research in the areas of: energy and climate policy; energy for development projects; energy-economic performance analysis; studies of energy poverty and vulnerability; energy-economic modeling; promotion mechanisms for renewable energies; and value chain analysis of the energy sector. He collaborates with various national and international institutions and belongs to the National System of Researchers. He obtained a doctorate in sustainable energy systems from the MIT Portugal-University of Lisbon program, a master's degree in the same area from the Technological University of Eindhoven (the Netherlands), and a mechanical engineering degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In addition, he has worked as an energy policy consultant; as a researcher for the University of Lisbon, the Iberoamerican University and the University of Guadalajara; as an associate manager and engineer for renewable energy projects for URS Corporation; and as a thermal energy engineer for Grupo Condumex. Finally, he has been the recipient of several awards, including the Gabino Barreda medal and various international research funds.
