Overview
I, Venkata Krishna Karthik Tangirala is currently working as a professor at tecnologico of monterrey, state of mexico campus. I possess level 1 in mexico national researchers system (SNI). I received my bachelors degree from JNTU University (2009), andhra pradesh, India, in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I received my master's degree (2011) from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, in nanotechnology and Ph.D. (2015) from CINVESTAV-IPN, Mexico, in Nanomaterials.
My research areas includes the synthesis and processing of metal oxide semiconductor nanostructures and the study of their use in the detection of different toxic gases for measuring air quality. Secondly, synthesis of different nanocomposited for the degredation of industrial dyes in the water using photocatalysis.
I had published around 50 research works until 2023 April, which includes peer reviewed articles, conference publications, book chapters, etc. I currently possess 525 citations with h-index 13. Majorly, his research works focused on CO2, CO, and Propane gas sensing characteristics of metal oxide semiconductors, especially SnO2 and ZnO. Additionally, I have designed and installed three different homemade gas sensing systems in different Autonomous Universities of Morelos and Hidalgo.
I have 5 years 6 months of teaching experience in pregrade and post graduate programs and have tutored 5 master and doctoral students. I am also the founder and leader of Applied Nanoengineering based on the semiconductor technology research group. Also, I recieved best teacher award in 2021 of the Masters program and have worked as academic coordinator of industrial engineering program from 2019 to 2022. During my coordination, i have been different process like program redisgn, academic program acreditation by CIEES and organization of different national and international conferences.
Finally, I have won two mexican governament funded proyects which are mainly focused in the elimination of contaminants in air and water. I work with different research groups from diverse universities belongs to Mexico, germany and India.
