Benavides-Lozano, Jorge Alejandro

Overview

Full-time professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2007. My research focuses on bioprocess design, the identification and characterization of bioactive compounds, and the development of biotechnological products. I am a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC) and the National System of Researchers (Level 3). I have over 75 indexed scientific articles, an H-index of 24, and 2,295 citations to date. I have advised and co-advised more than 20 master's and doctoral students. I actively participate in securing external funding to support the research projects in which I am involved. My current research focuses on identifying bioactive compounds with potential applications for the prevention and treatment of obesity and its detrimental effects on human health (diabetes, hypertension, etc.), as well as developing nanoformulations based on these bioactive compounds.
