Mendoza-Gómez, Rodolfo

Overview

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute (2008) and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), Toluca Campus (2012). In 2018, he earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the same campus. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (2020-2022) under the mentorship of Dr. Roger Ríos, in the Graduate Programs in Systems Engineering. He has seven years of teaching experience, collaborating at various campuses of ITESM, including Toluca, Santa Fe, CEM, and currently León, as well as at the University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP). His professional background includes experience in industry, having worked as a process analyst at TV Azteca (2008) and as a systems analyst at Grupo Elektra (2009). From 2020 to 2023, he was a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) at the Candidate level, and from 2026 to 2030, he held Level 1 status. His research focuses on developing decision-making models for resource planning in Mexico's public health sector. He has published numerous articles in high-impact journals and participated in national and international conferences. As a result of his research, he won the 2025 UANL Research Award in the exact sciences category, and his undergraduate student won the 50th Rómulo Garza Award. He chaired the organizing committee of the XIII Congress of the Mexican Society for Operations Research and is a member of the society's board of directors. Currently, he is a full-time professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, León Campus, and a member of the board of directors of the Mexican Society for Operations Research.
