Research interests lie in the field of biomaterials, especially in photosensitive ceramics capable to destroy bacteria, and interact with tissue. Besides she is developing materials that improves antibacterial effects changing the superficial quality of the bioceramics. In ITESM Nanotechnology group Dr Ortega design materials for different manufacture techniques and tested in vitro furthermore. Tissue mechanical characterization for modeling porpoises and electrospinning techniques for medical devices are been developed.
