Carmen Salinas Salazar holds a BcSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Biology (FCQ, UANL, 2007) and a PhD in Biotechnology (ITESM, 2016). Since 2017 is a National Research System Fellow (SNI-CONACYT), and in 2021 recieved the Level 1 classification (CONACYT, 2021 ¿ 2025). Currently is a Professor in the Bioengineering Department of the School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Carmen has published 11 scientific articles in international indexed journals and 1 book chapter (h index-7), has 1 granted patent and has international research experience in Spain and Singapore. Her research experience includes the development of green-based technologies and processes for the obtention of bioactive molecules from agroindustrial waste, which can be used by the food and pharmaceutical industries, the isolation of natural products from vegetable and microbial origin with antimicrobial activity against human pathogens such as Clostridium, Listeria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Additionally, has prior professional experience in Hospital Pharmacy, specifically in compounding of sterile parenteral drugs.
