Overview

Biomedical Engineer and Master in Computational Sciences with a Specialization in Medical Image Processing, graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara campus. I am currently in my sixth semester (6/8) of a Ph.D. in Multidisciplinary Health Research at the University of Guadalajara. I serve as Associate Program Director for Medicine and Health Sciences (MC). My professional journey began in 2013 as a research assistant in the Biotechnology and Health Division at Tecnológico de Monterrey, under the guidance of Dr. Arturo Santos García. During this early stage, I developed skills in project management and administration. Since then, I have published in indexed journals, participated in national and international conferences, secured over 10 million pesos in government funding for applied research, and managed multiple patent applications, with three patents granted to date. Concurrently, I contributed to the creation and implementation of the first biomedical engineering department at the Mexican Red Cross in Guadalajara. Upon completing my postgraduate studies in 2016, I took on the role of Associate Director for Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology Programs. In 2018, I transitioned to a similar position overseeing the Medical Doctor (MC) and Nutrition and Integral Well-Being (LNB) programs, under the leadership of Dr. Gabriela Vázquez Armenta. Since 2013, I have taught courses in face-to-face, remote, and hybrid formats, always prioritizing students' professional development by applying knowledge to real-world challenges in the healthcare sector. In academia, I have designed and led training units within academic programs, implemented innovative projects to enhance the student experience, and developed technological tools for competency evaluation under the Tec21 model at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (EMCS). Over nine years as an Associate Director, I have gained in-depth knowledge of academic and administrative processes at Tecnológico de Monterrey, creating strategies for tracking and managing the academic progress of over 500 students simultaneously. My interpersonal skills have significantly improved, enabling effective communication with prospective students, current students, and their families, and successfully resolving academic, personal, and administrative issues. I have actively participated in the accreditation and reaccreditation processes of academic programs by preparing evidence and ensuring meticulous follow-up on every stage, with a consistent focus on enhancing students' academic experiences. In 2023, I was honored with the State Award for Science and Technology of Jalisco in the Innovation category. In 2024, I was inducted into the Circle of Distinguished Professors at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
