Zavala-Arcos, Judith

Overview

I am a biomedical scientist specializing in regenerative medicine and tissue bioengineering. My work focuses on the development and characterization of collagen-based biomaterials, as well as the use of cell culture and analytical techniques to design therapeutic strategies aimed at tissue repair. I have coordinated and participated in interdisciplinary research projects integrating tissue engineering, cell biology, and biomaterials, with the goal of developing biomedical solutions with translational potential for degenerative diseases and fibrotic processes. In addition, I actively contribute to the training of undergraduate students in the biosciences by teaching research and project management courses, where I guide the development of research proposals that include state-of-the-art analysis, patent landscape review, and technological feasibility assessment. I also collaborate in scientific innovation and mentorship initiatives, particularly in programs aimed at strengthening the participation of women in science.
