Franco-Morgado, Mariana
Overview
Dr. Franco holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, and a Bachelor s degree in Industrial Biochemical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. She completed a research stay at the University of Valladolid, Spain, and postdoctoral research at the Institute of Engineering at UNAM and Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she currently performs as Research Professor and is a member of the Academic Faculty of Scientific Graduate Studies. Dr. Franco has authored numerous research articles in indexed journals and book chapters. She has participated in many national and international conferences as both, an organizer and speaker. Dr. Franco has supervised and co-supervised several undergraduate, master's, and doctoral theses. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII) at level 1. Her research interests include microalgae growth, valorization of agro-industrial waste by photosynthetic microorganism consortia, design and operation of bioreactors and photobioreactors, biogas upgrade and the integrated treatment of anaerobic digestion effluents.
