Tamez-Pena, José Gerardo

Overview

José Gerardo Tamez Peña is a Medical Imaging researcher with industrial experience in the conduct of clinical trials. He is the founder of IMITEK in Mexico and Qmetrics Technologies in Rochester NY. His algorithms are the core technology of KUVIA3D, an FDA approved medical device designed to aid the visualization of knee cartilage. He was the founder of VirutalScopics Inc. The company is focused on the conduct of image-based clinical trials. Tamez-Pena is a Senior member of the IEEE and fellow of the Mexican Research System. Tamez-Peña has more than 60 publications in the medical imaging area. Currently, he is full-time researcher the Tecnologico de Monterrey where he is researching new methods to diagnose chronic disease from medical images.
