Alfonso Avila received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR, USA. He is currently a Professor with the School of Engineering and Information Technologies, Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, NL., Mexico. His current research interests include computer architecture, embedded systems, digital systems, control systems on a chip and tele-health.
