Rita Q. Fuentes-Aguilar is currently a researcher at the IAMSM and a professor at the National School of Sciences and Engineering of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. She specializes in biomedical engineering applications, from the design of new medical devices to the implementation of control systems. Her research focuses on mathematical model identification and control of object deformation, machine learning for prediagnosis, and the development of solutions in the medical field. Dr. Fuentes completed her higher studies in Biomedical Engineering with honors at the National Polytechnic Institute. She holds a master's and a doctor of science degree in Automatic Control from the CINVESTAV Center for Research and Advanced Studies. She has also been a researcher attached to projects sponsored by the National Council of Science and Technology and is a member of the National System of Researchers. Dr. Fuentes has three patents, 7 national patent applications, 3 PCT applications, and five public copyright registries.
