Cuevas Cancino-Esteva, María de la O Laura del Carmen

Overview

Laura Cuevas is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She has a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Stirling University in the United Kingdom. Laura has been a professor for the last nineteen years, beginning her career at the Juarez National Autonomous University in Tabasco, Mexico. There she participated in several community and wildlife conservation projects. For the last ten years, she has worked at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education and for the last five years at the Santa Fe Campus and has won several teaching awards. She is currently an Assistant full-time professor in the Department of Sustainable Technologies and Civil Engineering where she specializes in sustainable development projects such as the Conservation of the Monarch Butterfly, project with which she won the Premios Latinoamérica Verde 2018, and the CODES Action Plan with the UN in 2022. She also participates in other national and international projects related to community, education and sustainable development aspects with a range of NGOs including the FUNACOMM A.C., PROMESA and ONU Habitat. She has also participated as a speaker in international conferences such as the ICEDU and EDUCON.
