Luis Ibarra graduated with honors as a mechatronics engineer in 2011 and obtained a Ph.D. in intelligent and robust control with outstanding thesis recognition in 2016, both from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Currently, he is pursuing a degree in mathematics.
He has participated in numerous consulting activities related to monitoring and control equipment for power systems and electrical machines, automation systems and distributed resource deployment planning. Currently, he is a research professor at the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. In addition, he is a founding partner of a technology and software development company. His research interests are power systems, automatic control, electrical machines, signal processing and applied artificial intelligence.
Dr. Ibarra is a member of the National System of Researchers level 1 (SNI 1) and a senior member of the IEEE.
