Antelis-Ortíz, Javier Mauricio

Overview

Mauricio is a professor and researcher at the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander in Cúcuta, Colombia; a Master's degree in Electronic Systems Science from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico; and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering Science and a Ph.D. in Cross-Disciplinary Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He leads the Neurotechnology and Brain-Computer Interface Laboratory (NTLab), where he works on the design, implementation, and testing of robust and reliable technologies that provide innovative solutions for communication, mobility, rehabilitation, and treatment for individuals affected by neuromotor diseases and the natural aging process. His research focuses on areas such as neurotechnology, brain-computer interfaces, brain imaging, quality of life technologies, pattern recognition, machine learning, Bayesian inference, and signal analysis and processing for healthcare applications. Additionally, he is a member of the Gravitational Wave Data Analysis Group, where he is responsible for computational statistics and AI techniques for the search, detection, and characterization of gravitational waves from various astrophysical sources such as binary black holes and supernovas.
