As a student, I was interested in processes associated with immunology that were reinforced during th PhD since I had the furtune to work in Dr. Vianney Ortíz's laboratory and to be in contact with great professors in this area. Initially, I wanted to performe a postdoctoral fellowship abroad to further comeback to México. However, the great opportunity to initiate the immunology area associated to cardiac diseaseas in this academic intitute changed my mind, since I had already the oportunity that I was expecting in the future. Here, I have been lucky to collaborate with many experts in different areas (medicine, chemistry, physics), which has increased and favored the perspective and approaches to understand the role that immune system play in cardiovascular diseases. Currently, I am working on the role that the immune system plays in obesity, pulmonary arterial hypertension and heart failure. Throughout these 7 years I have had the opportunity to contribute to its undestandig, with the aimed to contribute with the medical treatment of those patients with these conditions. I am greatful to belong to a very large group of experts that includes other immunologists.
